Since 1996, I have been speaking to live audiences, mentoring live people, and imparting to them the mindsets, methods, and strategies necessary to transform their lives. But it really all began when I was a kid with piano lessons and skipping rocks!
The Skipping Epiphany
As a farm kid growing up in the Midwest, I spent all my free time exploring the outdoor world around me. One of my favorite things to do was go over to the creek, or down to the pond in the back pasture, pick out some rocks shaped just right, and with a sidearm sling, skip them across the water! It was always my goal to get a rock shaped just right and thrown just right, to skip a long way across the water! I wondered with boyish awe at all those ripples that spread out in each place the rock hit the surface of the water!
Then, a few years ago, while deeply contemplating life, that childhood memory of rock skipping led me to a life-changing epiphany - that we are rocks, life is water, and as we live our daily lives we are skipping across the water's surface with each point of impact creating ripple effects that change the surface of the water!
And that brings me to the World Record in the Woods!

It happened in Pennsylvania’s Allegheny National Forest, on September 6, 2013. After slinging a rock and skipping it across water for 88 times, Kurt Steiner rocked his way into the Guinness Book of World Records for “the most consecutive skips of a stone on water”!
I know! You’re like, WTF does that have to do with changing my life?! And HTH does that relate to Embrace I.M.P.A.C.T!?!

And that's where the motto for E. I. comes from:
